Should we seek truth in the news, science, logic, or intuition?

I was cursed to be born with a logical mind. It may have gotten me into law school on my first application but it also frequently leaves me agitated at the state of the world’s affairs.

On the other hand, I feel blessed with a sense of intuition. I sometimes get the sense I should look deeper into things, and make sure they really are as they appear.

I’m not sure if I should be employing either trait, these days, as the message coming from news sources, social media and government are to follow directives. And the tolerance for pushback, or even hesitation, is low.

Television and journals used to provide unbiased reporting of the news (or so it seemed). Today messages differ, depending on the source one chooses for information and political slant is not at all hidden.

People are aligning themselves according to their go-to source for news and this, some say, is splitting the population.

Do we trust science, the news that reports it, or our gut feelings about what’s being reported and the reflection we cannot help but make up on all of it?

Today the truth is monetized and I believe we must be free to look to our inner senses to determine what is right for ourselves as individuals. Otherwise, we are…
